The Northeast Regional Youth Competition Circuit for Parkour is a collective effort between multiple Parkour Gyms in the Northeast.
The Regional Circuit allows Competitive Parkour students to travel between Parkour Gyms in the Northeast, competing in different formats at each. Each format favors certain styles of competitive training, creating opportunity for specialized and hybridized student Athletes.
Parkour Athletes race on a pre-established course with specific boundaries & limitations in an attempt to achieve the fastest time.
Boundaries are marked with red and yellow flags. Athletes maintain red flags to their right, and yellow flags to their left. They are allowed to navigate the space between these boundaries however they wish.
Complete a checklist of pre-set skill challenges within a given time-limit. As rounds progress, difficulty increases, and time diminishes.
Athletes create a line (a path in Parkour) through a pre-determined course, restricted by time, skill, and obstacle requirements.
Each athlete’s line is judged on overall impression of fluidity, creativity, and difficulty of movement, as well as uniqueness of area usage. Athletes complete 3 Style rounds.
ROUND 1: Athletes must incorporate one skill from a pre-selected list of skills into their line. The list for each Style Competition will be announced prior to the event date so that all athlete cans consider their preferences for the competition day.
ROUND 2: Athletes must incorporate a specific obstalce into their line. This will not be announced ahead of the competition.
ROUND 3: Athletes must incorporate both a specific skill & obstalce into their line. This is a hybrid round of the first two.
