Little Roamers classes at ROAMFurther Athletics in Mt. Kisco, NY focus on coach-led exploration while developing spatial awareness, coordination, and foundational motor skills. Each class features a changing variety of obstacle-based stations designed through a Parkour-focused approach to early movement development.
Parkour is about learning how our bodies move and relate to the world around us.
For young children, that often looks like play. Beneath the surface, though, they are developing proprioception, spatial awareness, coordination, and confidence in both their physical abilities and their willingness to take on new challenges.
Kinesthesia is our sense of movement, while proprioception is our awareness of where our bodies are in relation to the space around us. The foundational movements of Parkour—jumping, climbing, balancing, and navigating obstacles—help develop these senses along with the motor skills connected to them.
Our Little Roamers classes support children’s natural curiosity for movement and exploration through structured play and the foundations of Parkour.
Little Roamers classes reinforce the foundational motor skills and movement abilities developing throughout the 4–5 year age range.
We help athletes grow into their increasing physical independence through coach demonstration, discovery-based learning, and positive reinforcement, building confidence as they explore what their bodies can do.
Our Little Roamers classes are structured as a coach-led group experience. Athletes should be able to remain within the group boundaries established by their coach and participate safely alongside their peers.
Classes may be drop-off and pick-up, but athletes must be fully potty trained in order to participate without a parent or caregiver present.
