Little Roamers classes at ROAMFurther Athletics in Mt. Kisco, NY focus on coach–led exploration and development of spatial awareness and motor milestones. Each class features a unique variety of obstacle-based stations designed with a Parkour focused perspective.

Parkour is all about learning how our bodies move—especially relative to the world around us.
For little ones, it seems like little more than play.
For us—and for you—it serves to refine children’s proprioception; introduce and reinforce better risk–assessment; and develop their self–confidence in relation to both their physical and psychological abilities.
Kinesthesia is our sense of self-motion, proprioception our sense of self relative to the space around us. Jumping, climbing, balancing—the root movements of Parkour—enhance these senses and the motor skills associated with them.
Our Little Roamer classes focus on supporting children’s natural curiosity for movement and exploration through structured play and the foundations of Parkour.
Little Roamer classes seek to reinforce the movement-oriented motor functions that present themselves in the 3-5 year age range.
We work to guide students into their growing physicality, teaching through demonstration, discovery–based learning, and positive reinforcement.
Our Little Roamers classes are structured around a coach-led group setting. Students must be capable of remaining within the group boundaries set by the coach.
While our Little Roamers classes can be drop-off and pick-up, students must be fully potty trained to accommodate this.
The 3-5 year old age bracket is often a transitional time where kids shift from parent–dependent to self–directed socialization.
Adjacent to this, many of our students have younger siblings who benefit from participating within a slightly older age group. We’re advocates of the community values developed during cooperation of varying ages.
In an effort to balance the two age groups, we allow students still passing through this transitional phase to participate within the 3-5 class with the accompaniment of a parent/caretaker.
With this in mind, as your little one adapts to the class, we encourage you to step back when appropriate to allow them time for agency.
